A Love Better Than They Dreamed

July 27, 2020

She would meet him in the midst of chaos and transformation. She would meet him with lessened faith, and even lesser hope for romance.

She would walk into the restaurant cautiously optimistic. She couldn’t have predicted the man who would walk up, and even better, the priceless outcome that would come of it all.

As he walks up, she can see him through the window. He is handsome, in a gentle and comforting way. The way that sends butterflies fluttering in your belly and a smile that starts in your heart. As he says “hello”, she notices the way his eyes light up. Lit by the beauty of his soul, or so she imagines.

If there was ever a time she should be absent of faith and hope and the idea of love, it would be now. But when he walked in, it restored everything she always dreamed she’d feel and experience.

Things were different from the very first words, and grew better with each additional conversation, and each additional moment. It wouldn’t take long for her to realize he was everything he said he was, and it was everything she had been looking for.

Together, with him, is the place her heart and soul were destined to lead. He told her they were made for each other, and she believed him. He told her he loved her more than anything, and even better, he showed her.

There is no perfect love, no perfect relationship, but this one is a blessing, even through the broken path and the damaged hearts that created it. It has flaws, but it shines with truth and passion. It’s the closest thing to heaven on earth they’ll ever find, and they know it.

This love. This girl. This guy. This life. It’s better than they planned and larger than they dreamed. It’s theirs, and it always will be. A love so beautiful, it’s transformed hearts and souls and crafted something imperfectly perfect and 100% uniquely theirs.
