Love and Line Dances

March 30, 2020

Love is creative. It’s endless. It’s unique to each person and each relationship.

Love is a gift. A priceless, meaningful and important gift.

It doesn’t let a pandemic stop it’s existence. Instead, it seizes the opportunity to solidify it.

Until today, I had no idea the charismatic ways love could show up. Surprising us all with its simplicity and influence.

Today love showed up at our backyard window as a linedance.

A step left, step right, 1 2 3, kick-ball change, line dance. And it was beautiful.

My in-laws showed up with doorstep gifts and through-the-window love and fun.

There they stood through glass, giving our kiddos a performance of the new line dances they’ve been learning in the free-time quarantine has given them. The smile on our kids’ faces were perfection.

I sat there watching in tears. Tears of both happiness and sadness. There is so much that we miss living in isolation, but there is also so much new and unique beauty that we’ve seen and been gifted with. Today’s line dance was one of those gifts.

Lucky for us, our security camera caught it all so we can continue to relive the fun moment when we learned that love can show up, unexpected, as a line dance, and an answered prayer.
