The Consequences of an Addiction that Isn’t Yours

Unpaid bills. Empty bank accounts.  The consequences of someone else’s addictions.  Broken plans and constant cover ups. The consequences of someone else’s addictions. Fearful nights and stressful days.  The consequences of someone else’s addictions.  Endless tears and endless prayers.  The consequences of someone else’s addictions. Lost trust, vanishing love, and stolen dreams.  The consequences of someone else’s addictions. You didn’t choose the drugs. They never enter your system, but the consequences of them enter every aspect of your life.  You didn’t choose the drugs. You chose the addict. A label that found them after the creation of your marriage. A label that was hidden and covered up.  Divorce.  A consequence of someone else’s addictions.  Eventually, the beautiful consequence that will set you free.  Free to live again.  Free to love again.  Free of the consequences of someone else’s addictions.  xox, Chels
