I want to be like my mom. I want to make the world better. I want to help strangers smile, just because. I want to inspire people to have faith they thought was nonexistent and strength that has been hard to find on their own.
I want to be just like my mother. I want to let my love be known. I want everyone I love to never doubt my deep devotion to them and their well-being. I want my adoration for my children to be so strong they never have to question how much I’ve loved them because the answer is limitless– and they know it.
I want to be like my mom. I want to live with bold purpose to do good and be good– to show the light when darkness seems to drown it out. I want to smile, not because I am faking it, but because I see so much joy in things around me it becomes effortless.
I want to be just like my mother. I want to show up for people, not because I have to, but because I’m called to. Because I want to provide grace and compassion and support to those that need it— even before they ask, and especially when they don’t know the person who showed up for them was me. Helping, never for recognition, but for relief of those facing turmoil and hardships.
I want to be like my mom. I want to face fear with faith. I want to face unknowns with trust. I want to face struggles with determination and grit. I want to learn from my mistakes and I want to be vulnerable enough to share those mistakes with others so they know that I’m imperfect, but still so worthy of greatness, and that they are too.
I want to be just like my mother. I want to value the things that matter, truly matter, like love and health and family. I want my priorities to be built upon the things I care about most in life– people. I want my memories to be filled with beautiful reminiscence for our time together– for life that has been lived, not stagnant by heartbreak or challenges.
I want to be like my mom. I want to live with an influence so powerful, so strong, that when I’m gone people miss me with the same intensity– knowing my life mattered. Knowing my love changed people’s lives. Knowing I will live on through them.
I want to be just like my mother– with a legacy worth replicating and a love worth multiplying.
I want to be like my mother. And if I try hard enough, I just might be– like my mother.
